Bad News

As most of us know that many parts of the world is experiencing a credit crunch. But my dear friends and neighbors, it doesn't have to be this way!!

There IS a LIGHT at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it's good for our tunnel to become very dark, because it is then that the LIGHT shines the brightest. Sometimes it takes dark times such as these to draw us closer to that Light. You see, bad news can become something good and wonderful if we'll only do as the Word of God instructs us to. We're human, and the feelings of fear and insecurity are sure to come. And God knows this. He understands our frailty and because He loves us and cares for us so much, He provides the comfort and the help we'll need if we'll only allow Him the opportunity. It requires doing as His Word tells us. This is where many folks stop in their quest for Divine help. They're not willing to DO as God says. Because they REALLY DON'T BELIEVE that God's way will work. This is so, because God's means of deliverance are just the opposite from man's solutions. Many times they just don't make sense. Here is where we must begin.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says... Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths

David was a human just as we are and obviously suffered a level of fear due to the circumstances of his day as well. Why did he survive? Notice where He went with that fear.....he said, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee" (Psalms 56:3) David knew that the "government", nor the solutions of mere mortal men would be enough to carry him safely through his ordeal. He knew the truth of Psalms 118:8-9 "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes."

As we step out in faith and approach difficult times in obedience to Him by faith in God's Word.....He promises that He'll carry us through. If we will do as Psalms 4:5 says and... "offer the sacrifices of righteousness (that's living a life that is conformed to Jesus Christ), and put your trust in the LORD".....then we can rely on God's promise found in Psalms 34:22 "The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate." Will God's children survive the drought? Will God's own prized possession suffer the lack of their basic needs? The Bible makes clear that as we "seek first the Kingdom of God, all these things shall be added unto you" Psalms 37:3 provides the key to surviving a "drought" such as our town has suffered and will no doubt suffer again......"Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed."

As we trust in the Lord and rely fully on His Word, we will find that our feelings of depression, discouragement, and pessimism will be turned to hope, joy, and optimism. As you lean on His everlasting arms, Psalms 40:3 will describe you in this community. It says.... "And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." Don't ever forget my friends what our loving Heavenly Father assures us of in Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." May God bless you all.

Hope things sorted out in His time, pastor. And meanwhile, we prayed that you and your family have strength in the Lord to continue to witness for Him.
We are so thankful that despite of the credit crunch, you and your family still stay put serving in UK.
